[glow=blue,2,300]-`--MAENADS[/glow]
-`--In Greek mythology, Maenads were the female followers of Dionysus, the most significant members of the Thiasus, the retinue of Dionysus. Male Maenads were very rare, but did exist. Their name literally translates as "raving ones". Often the maenads were portrayed as inspired by him into a state of ecstatic frenzy, through a combination of dancing and drunken intoxication. In this state, they would lose all self control, begin shouting excitedly, engage in uncontrolled sexual behavior, and ritualistically hunt down and tear animals (and sometimes men and children) to pieces, devouring the raw flesh. During these rites, the maenads would dress in fawn skins and carry a thyrsus, a long stick wrapped in ivy or vine leaves and tipped by a cluster of leaves, weave ivy-wreaths around their heads, and often handle or wear snakes.

Dionysus came to his birthplace, Thebes, where neither Pentheus, his cousin who was now king, nor Pentheus’ mother Agave, Dionysus’ aunt (Semele’s sister) acknowledged his divinity. Dionysus punished Agave by driving her insane, and in that condition, she killed her son and tore him to pieces. From Thebes, Dionysus went to Argos where all the women except the daughters of King Proetus joined in his worship. Dionysus punished them by driving them mad, and they killed the infants who were nursing at their breasts. He did the same to the daughters of Minyas, King of Orchomenos in Boetia, and then turned them into bats.

Cultic rites associated with worship of the Greek god of wine, Bacchus (or Dionysus), allegedly characterized by maniacal dancing to the sound of loud music and crashing cymbals, in which the revellers, called Bacchantes, whirled, screamed, became drunk and incited one another to greater and greater ecstasy. The goal was to achieve a state of enthusiasm in which the celebrants’ souls were temporarily freed from their earthly bodies and were able to commune with Bacchus/Dionysus and gain a glimpse of and a preparation for what they would someday experience in eternity after their resurrection. The rite climaxed in a performance of frenzied feats of strength and madness, such as uprooting trees, tearing a bull (the symbol of Dionysus) apart with their bare hands, an act called sparagmos, and eating its flesh raw, an act called omophagia. This latter rite was a sacrament akin to communion in which the participants assumed the strength and character of the god by symbolically eating the raw flesh and drinking the blood of his symbolic incarnation. Having symbolically eaten his body and drunk his blood, the celebrants believed they became possessed by Dionysus. The main shrines where these rites took place were at Delphi and Eleusis.

Fire: These elementals are extremely intimidating, with their near constant flaming body. Extreme rage lies within each fire elemental. It is very quick and hasty when it attacks. Because of the raging heat that comes from this element, it is hard to be around without getting burned. When they change from their human form to their true form, their skin spontaneously combusts, turning int pure ash. It can later use it's own flame to create a new layer of skin.
Air: This specific element is very hard to detect. When in their true form, they reside as nothing more than a ravaging wisp of air, able to control it's own density and spread around it's atoms to make it near invisible. The air elemental is very patient and calm when attacking. When it turns from it's human to it's true form, it's skin will disintegrate into pure oxygen. It can later collect oxygen around itself to create a new skin.
Water: This elemental is very sly and mischievous. When in it's true form, it looks like a human male/female that is made of up pure water, and is transparent. It's ability to instantly liquefy and turn into into a puddle of water, then later reform itself makes it hard to spot and hit. When attacking, the Water elemental is not afraid to tease and play around with the prey. When transforming from human to it's true form, it's skin will also liquefy and slowly melt off. It can later use water from it's own body to make new skin.
Earth: There is much power within this element. As the water elemental, it takes on the shape of a human male/female but of pure condensed minerals. It can easily condense itself with extreme force, making it just about impenetrable. Along with having a great defense, it is also very powerful. Although it lacks speed, it is made up for with the sheer strength it withholds. When transforming from human to it's true form, it's skin will simply loosen up, and fall off turning into sand. It can later use any type of mineral surrounding it to make a new layer of skin.
